Our gites and guest rooms, a family story

The farm has been handed down from generation to generation. Acquired by Lucien Crespeigne, my grandfather, in 1957 following a real love affair, it remained for many years an isolated holiday home with rustic charm. At the time, he was a doctor in Namur and coming to the Ferme de l'Airbois allowed him to work in the open air and to change his environment. The farm was also the private place for all family weekends and holidays. Yes, in the 1950s and 1960s, you only had to travel 25 km to go on holiday! The buildings were used as barns and stables.

In 1988, our parents, Alain and Marie-Christine Crespeigne, decided to move in and undertook some incredible work. They begin by transforming the barn into a family home. Once installed, they use the other buildings for their professional activity, painting on glazed tiles.

Between 2000 and 2002, they begin a second and finally a third wave of work. Windows were pierced, walls were opened and little by little, the stables and the old dwelling were transformed into two guest-houses of great charm and comfort. As if it were their own home, they pay a lot of attention to details and the choice of materials. The kitchens and bathrooms in blue stone are decorated with hand-painted glazed tiles, the living rooms are elegantly covered with Bourgogne flagstones and the bedrooms with parquet flooring. The choice of colours, fabrics and materials contribute to the charm and relaxation of your stay.  The furniture is sometimes antique, sometimes family style, giving warmth and comfort to the place.

The ensemble forms two houses with a timeless style and in which one feels naturally at home.

In 2019, it is us, their daughter and son-in-law, Aveline and Pierre de Troostembergh, who will take up the torch to continue to offer you a quality welcome in an exceptional place. Under our roof, the old barn, we welcome you in guest rooms of character. We take care of the breakfast with homemade and organic products from the hill and the region.
